Removing Your Links & Post From Blog Networks

After two years of success, build my rank announced they were shutting down there popular private blog network.

This was the sad announcement by the managers.

Unfortunately, this morning, our scripts and manual checks have determined that the overwhelming majority of our network has been de-indexed (by Google), as of March 19, 2012. In our wildest dreams, there’s no way we could have imagined this happening.

For the time being, BMR will be shutting down our service in its current form. Whether we’ll re-open again after the dust settles and we’re able to determine the root cause of the de-indexing activity remains to be seen.

I had seen this coming, the truth is what build my rank and other blog networks were doing was selling links. This practice is contrary to Google policy. What has happened is what happened to Text Link Ads in 2008. Once Google discovers a system that games there algorithm it swiftly shuts it down.

This announcement has left users in a panic mode.

Apart from de-indexing Build My Rank, Google is also going after sites who bought the service. Some users are already reporting a decline in traffic.

Other Blog networks that may face the axe or have already been axed,
  • Unique Article Wizard
  • MyArticleNetwork
  • BuildMyRank
  • BlogBlueprint
  • LinkVana
  • Article Marketing Automation
  • ArticleRanks
  • SEO Link Monster
  • Rank Jumpers
Some users are seeing the following scary message in there Webmaster account,

Notice of Detected Unnatural Links.

Removing links and post from private blog network.

The links are dead and have no value but they lead Google to all the clients who used the service.

Buildmyranks has advised users to remove links and all post but it might be already to late. Google stores every data and even if you remove your previous post they will still have the cache.

With the link juice from blog network gone you will now watch your traffic drop down and down.

Things You Can Do To Recover.

  1. Start all over again - This time play by the rules, no more buying links.
  2. Rely less on Google traffic and focus more on social media sites like Facebook and twitter.
  3. If you depended on Google adsense for your income, diversify to other sources like affiliate marketing.
  4. Sue Google for denying you the right to making money online. This idea was very popular with some annoyed users of Buildmyrank. But I don't think it has any legs.
  5. Apply for a real office job. If you feel you are struggling to make a career as an internet marketer you can always go back to old school job. After all we internet marketers are the minority.
Be philosophical like Buildmyrank owner. This was the comment he left for the users.

We don't consider this an end but the beginning.
